Medical-Grade Skincare Products
At Monaghan Aesthetic Clinic, we believe that great skin starts with science. Our medical-grade skincare line delivers advanced formulations, clinical results and treatments that go beyond what over-the-counter products can achieve. Whether you are looking to treat pigmentation, acne, fine lines, or simply maintain healthy, glowing skin, our curated product range and in-clinic treatments can help you meet your goals safely and effectively.
What Makes a Skincare Product “Medical-Grade”?
Medical-grade skincare refers to formulations developed with high-quality active ingredients, rigorous testing, and often used (or prescribed) under medical oversight. These products are designed to:
Penetrate deeper and have higher potency than many cosmetic items.
Address both underlying causes and visible symptoms (e.g. inflammation, pigmentation, collagen loss).
Be used as part of a regimen tailored to your skin type, condition, and goals.
Provide long-term health benefits (improving barrier function, preventing further damage, etc.).
Our Featured Brands & Treatments
Below are two of the leading technologies we offer at Monaghan Aesthetic Clinic to help you achieve and maintain radiant, healthy skin.
ZO Skin Health (Dr. Zein Obagi)
Overview
ZO Skin Health is a skin care line founded by Dr. Zein Obagi, a dermatologist deeply committed to restoring and maintaining skin health. The products are scientifically formulated to treat conditions like sun damage, pigmentation, acne, rosacea, texture, and premature aging.
Key Features and Benefits
Targeted treatments for specific concerns such as pigmentation, redness, blemish-control, and uneven skin tone.
Anti-aging formulations that use potent but tolerable ingredients: retinols, peptides, growth factors, antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E), and advanced delivery systems.
Skin firming and elasticity improvements: firming serums, renewal creams etc., help support skin structure and reduce sagging.
Brightening: products like Brightalive®, vitamin C treatments, complexion clarifiers to address dullness, sun spots and uneven tone.
Barrier care & hydration: moisturisers, renewal creams, anti-redness and soothing formulations to protect and calm the skin.
How We Use ZO Products in Your Plan
At the clinic, we will assess your skin condition, your history of sensitivities, your lifestyle (sun exposure, stress, environment etc.), then recommend a tailored regimen using ZO Skin Health. Often this will include a combination of:
Cleansers and exfoliants
Toners or renewal pads
Serums (antioxidants, growth factors, vitamin C etc.)
Treatment creams (e.g. retinol or other actives)
Daytime protection (sunscreen etc.)
We monitor how your skin responds and adjust the regimen to balance effectiveness with comfort.
SkinPen Precision (Microneedling / Skin Remodelling)
What is SkinPen Precision?
SkinPen Precision is a leading microneedling / skin remodelling medical device used in-clinic. It works by creating many microscopic channels in the skin to trigger your body’s natural healing response, including production of collagen and elastin. Over time this can improve texture, tone, reduce scarring, and renew the skin’s appearance.
What It Helps With
SkinPen is clinically shown to help with:
Acne scars and other kinds of scarring.
Fine lines and wrinkles.
Stretch marks.
Uneven skin texture, enlarged pores.
Pigmentation and tone irregularities.
What the Treatment is Like
Sessions are usually quick (≈ 30 minutes or so, depending on area treated).
We’ll use a topical numbing cream if needed, especially for deeper or more sensitive areas.
The needle depth is adjustable (shallow for gentle rejuvenation, deeper for more intense scar or texture work) up to approximately 2.5 mm in some areas.
Minimal downtime: you may experience redness, mild swelling or a sunburn-like effect for a day or two; healing typically progresses rapidly.
Why Choose SkinPen with Our Clinic
Medical oversight ensures you get the correct needle depth, safety, and post-treatment skincare.
We combine SkinPen with appropriate medical skincare (e.g. ZO or similar) to both support healing and prolong results.
We provide customised treatment plans: number of sessions, spacing, aftercare etc., to get the best result for you.
What to Expect When You Partner with Us
Skin Analysis & Consultation — we start with a detailed skin check (history, current regime, any sensitivities).
Personalised Regimen + Treatment Plan — combining in-clinic procedures (e.g. SkinPen) and medical-grade products (e.g. ZO) customised to your skin type, goals and budget.
Education & Support — how to use products safely (retinol ramp-up, sun protection, what to avoid etc.), what the realistic outcomes are, how to maintain improvements.
Follow-up & Maintenance — we monitor progress, adjust plans, and support you so that results last (not just quick fixes).
Important Notes & Safety
Medical-grade skincare and procedures are powerful; they should be prescribed or supervised by trained medical/aesthetic professionals.
Some actives (retinols, exfoliants, strong antioxidants) may cause irritation when you start — proper introduction/gradual escalation is essential.
Always use sunscreen daily—many treatments increase sensitivity to UV and can worsen pigmentation if sun protection is inadequate.
Disclose all relevant health history: skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea etc.), medications, allergies, previous treatments.
Results vary depending on individual factors: starting skin condition, age, lifestyle, adherence to regimen, etc.
